Excavation & bobcat hire in Cranbourne.
Cranbourne is volume work for us - Eliston, Lochaven, Avon and the Botanic Ridge release area are some of Casey’s busiest new-build estates. Forgiving silty-loam soil, established estate access, slab-on-ground houses every week. Our gear is on a Cranbourne site somewhere most days.
The Cranbourne earthworks story.
Volume new-build market.
Cranbourne East and Cranbourne South are at the southern engine room of the Casey growth corridor. Eliston, Lochaven, Avon and Botanic Ridge are delivering hundreds of slab-on-ground homes every year. We’re on a Cranbourne estate site multiple times a week - topsoil strip, sub-base lay, driveway crossover prep, retaining-wall footings.
Forgiving silty-loam soil.
Most of Cranbourne sits on silty-loam over sandy clay - AS 2870 Class P to M. That’s much friendlier than the reactive Class M/H clay belt up around Endeavour Hills. Standard 150mm crushed-rock sub-base compacted in two lifts usually does the job for driveways and slabs. The exceptions: parts of Cranbourne West and the Botanic Ridge fringe where groundwater appears below 1.2m - pool digs and deep footings there need pumping and de-watering before excavation.
Estate access is straightforward.
12.5m-15m typical frontage with established crossovers. Our 5t excavator and bobcat get straight in with no fence drops. Where the crossover isn’t in yet we do the crossover sub-base as part of the same mobilisation - one less trade for the builder to coordinate.
